69k jobs were added in May after an downwardly revised 77k jobs in April. The Unemployment Rate now sits at 8.2%. A number of long term unemployed have been dropping off the rolls with a cutback in eligibility. The magical 8% level for Obama's reelection chances is now in sight.
After strong months in January and February, weaker months in March, April, May balance out to an average of about 175k jobs added a month.
